Seating at SOMA – San Diego, CA
SOMA is a general-admission, standing-room venue with two configurations: the Mainstage (up to 2,700 capacity) and the Sidestage (up to 500 capacity). There are no traditional fixed seats — the venue is built for an energetic, immersive concert experience.
Seating Sections
- Mainstage – Main Floor (GA Standing): Open floor directly in front of the stage. Best for fans who want to be close to the action. Can be very packed near the front at sold-out shows.
- Mainstage – Raised Back Area: The back of the room is elevated for better sightlines. Ideal for fans who want a clear view without standing in the crowd.
- VIP Viewing Platforms: Two raised VIP platforms on the sides of the Mainstage offer excellent elevated views. Requires a VIP ticket upgrade.
- Sidestage: A more intimate room (~500 capacity) used for smaller shows. Great sightlines throughout and a more up-close atmosphere.
Best Sections
We recommend the raised back area for the clearest sightlines, or center floor mid-distance from the stage for the best combination of sound and energy. The VIP platforms offer the best elevated views.
Sections to Avoid
The far sides near the walls on the main floor can have slightly obstructed views depending on the stage configuration.
